The website Help Me Investigate allows for people and journalists to collaborate research to answer from why your local doctor now has an 0845 number to what street has the most parking tickets issued.

Founder Paul Bradshaw said:

“Help Me Investigate is perfect for people who are concerned about the environment – it allows you to ask those nagging questions about how companies behave, what governments say, and how individuals can combine their abilities to answer those questions.”

Only one investigation concerning the environment has so far been set up, What is the approximate yearly C02 emissions caused by the by the visitors of the West Midlands Safari Park?

  1. It looks like you have to register to see the answers. That’s off-putting — why not allow the answers to be seen by everyone, for the greater public good?

  2. I agree it’s off-putting, it’s because we’re still in the initial stages and we’re being careful to grow it slowly with a strong community culture.
That said, your comment has made me think of a way to allow people to see answers and results without registering (in fact, you already can by visiting the Reports page but it should be on the investigation description itself).
Thanks, and if you want to use the site, let me know at paul (at) helpmeinvestigate.com
