Four out of six voters say environment is not their priority
At the Court Farm Primary School polling station in Erdington, four out of six voters said they were more preoccupied by housing and anti social behaviour issues than anything else.
They added that they were not concerned by environmental issues and that MP’s should have more important issues to solve before turning their attention to greener solutions.
Issues and priorities are different from a voter to another though. Some voters insisted on the importance of providing youth with more activities in order to reduce anti social behaviour in the area while others talked about tax cut, improving social housing and the fact that the City Council mismanages public money.
James walker, 53, did however stress the importance for the City Council to increase its control over parks:
‘Stop chopping down trees and planting new ones and keep it to weekly collections.’
Ann and Mark Parker twenty five years old PhD students said that the recycling facilities in Erdington were efficient and that they helped them recycling even more but added that there should be more wheelie bins and that they expected the next Erdington MP to deal with this issue.
If environmental issues are not a priority in this constituency, people still look forward to a better environment for their children and future generation.
