UN question the future of the climate change movement

The UN Association in the Central Region are holding a conference this weekend to talk about what the future holds for the climate change movement after the failings of the Copenhagen Summit in December last year.

Dr Chris Crean, the West Midlands Regional Campaign Coordinator for Friends of the Earth, and author of Green Spirituality Chris Philpott will be addressing the conference after they both attended the international summit before Christmas.

Crean, highlights the West Midlands as the base for opportunity in developing climate change policy suggesting ‘serious action now’ in meeting the targets for emissions cuts for 2020 and 2050.

In a presentation last year he said:

‘As the birthplace of the ‘brown’ economy through the industrial revolution the region has a chance to lead on development of the green revolution.’

The conference is being held at the Birmingham and Midlands Institute in the City Centre on Saturday 20th March 2010 with the doors opening at 10.00am for a promt 10.30 start.
