“Saving the environment” can seem quite a daunting ambition, and out of reach to us in our everyday lives. It is very tempting to take the attitude of “there’s nothing I can do on my own to help”, and leave it to those clever conservationists who make it their mission to save the world.
WWF target Birmingham attractions

The World Wildlife Federation are targeting Birmingham’s main attractions, including the NEC, ICC and NIA, to participate in their global “Earth Hour” campaign.
The organisation was in the UK’s second city today to convince local businesses and authorities to turn of their lights for one hour at 8.30pm, March 28th 2009, to show their support for the fight against climate change.

With recycling it seems that we do it because we assume it’s the most environmentally friendly option that we have to waste disposal.
Coventry City goes Eco-friendly

The final designs for Coventry City Centre’s revamp were revealed at the end of last month.
The massive overhaul, costing a whopping £1billion, has been designed by Los Angeles-based architects, Jerde Partnership, who have designed cities all over the world.
Asda plans charges for carrier bags

Local supermarket, Asda, plans to charge 10p per carrier bag, it has been revealed.
The store’s decision will be slowly implemented throughout all UK stores. Notices are being displayed around the stores at the moment to give customers as much notice as possible.
Dudley ‘health hubs’ – considering local heritage?

Concerns for the natural environment and heritage of Dudley grew today, as the local council announced plans to turn a selection of parks into ‘health hubs’.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I’m currently looking into how this might work out technically, and how big of a demand there would be.

i do like the sound of this it could even be taken to the next level for Birmingham city university students to add what they think about the enviroment and if the story’s have effected them in any sort of way.
