Birmingham parks for the week beginning 17th August

Another week, another pack of activities waiting for us in Birmingham’s beautiful parks this summer!

In the Kingfish Country Park, you can go wild for a Family Fun Day with “Wellie wanging, duck racing and lots more antics” on Wednesday from 10AM. It is recommended that you wear sturdy footwear and light refreshments are provided. Perhaps the day is a good excuse for a picnic?

A similar event is happening in The Moseley Bog Local Nature Reserve with a Family and Friends Environmental Activity Day. From 11AM on Wednesday (and also next Tuesday 25th August) join the outdoor activities like den building, games and bug hunting. Booking is essential.

If you’re interested in the Lickey Hills’ nocturnal mammals, come to another Bat and Moth night on Saturday from 7:30PM. Bring your torch and don’t forget to book beforehand.

In Sutton Park on Wednesday, eight to twelve year-olds can get involved in Junior Angling Tuition from 11AM and learn the guidelines for wildlife friendly fishing.

And of course, don’t forget the Tuesday Walkabout with the Friends of Kings Norton Nature Reserve.
