Birmingham parks for the week beginning 14th September

Kids might be back at school now, but there are still plenty of activities in our conservation areas that families can get involved with this weekend.

In Cannon Hill Park, take part in a walk around the park led by rangers, looking at the many tree varieties from cedars to sequoias. If you wish to join in this Sunday, meet at the Information Office at 11AM.

Increase your knowledge of geology by learning about the rocks that make up the Lickey Hills this Sunday. Meet at the Visitors Centre at 1PM and terrain may be challenging so stout footwear is required.

On Sunday you can also test your map skills with Orienteering for Beginners in the Plantsbrook Local Nature Reserve. At 2PM meet at Pype Hayes Car Park, booking is essential so call 0121 351 7007.

In Mosely Bag Nature Reserve, there’s another chance for you to give back to the community with a Conservation Workday. Help the rangers with practical work such as clearing weeds from 10:30 on Saturday.
