Birmingham might become the first sustainable city in the UK with Be Birmingham’s aim to reduce waste and improve recycling.
In partnership with Birmingham City Council, Be Birmingham – the local strategic partnership that brings together partners from the business, community and voluntary sectors – is working to help reduce waste in the city by 60% by 2026.

Envirosort brings changes to recycling systems in Bromsgrove
Recycling in Bromsgrove and surrounding districts is set to change next month as councils make use of a new dry-recycling sorting facility in Worcestershire.
Envirosort, based in Norton, was created by Severn Waste Services to deal with recycled materials collected from the kerbside boxes issued by local councils.

Burning waste is “not enough” say campaigners
Despite recent improvements in recycling rates, Birmingham Friends of the Earth think that a lot more can be done to help residents recycle household waste.
The group believe that Birmingham City Council are missing opportunities to recycle more materials because of the use of the “Energy from Waste” plant.

Sometimes, the right causes don’t get the right recognition, and Brumcan is definitely one of those causes. As a result, the Brumcan service was supposedly cut in 2005.
